| My hypothesis is: I think gravity does have an effect on plant growth on plants. I think that becausse the roots of a plant always go down and the stem of a plant always go up. | |
| I was trying to find out Does Gravity Have An Effect On Plant Growth? I wanted to know that because plants donít have many so I wondered if gravity makes the roots of a plant to go down and the stems to go up. | |

1. I placed the
beans in a bowl of I filled the bowl with water and stored the beans in
the refrigerator overnight.
2. After one dat I emptied the water. I carefully put the beans on to a folded paper towel. 3.I rolled the paper towel up. 4.I moistened the paper towel a little. 5.I wrapped the aluminum foil around the paper towel and folded the ends. 6.I placed the roll into a cup. Then I left it there for 5 days. 7. Then i carefully opened the roll and observed what had happened. 8.I moistened the paper and closed the roll. 9.I left the roll alone for five days. This time I turned the roll up-side-down. 10. I opened the roll up one last time and observed what had happened. |
|
| After
5 days the bean sprout roots started growing down and the stem up.
Flipping the roll made the beans do a 180-degree turn, but again the roots
started to go down and the stems up.

|
| My
hypothesis was correct, as proven above experiment. I further researched
the reason why gravity has this on plants by reading articles in books.
I discover that Geotropism is the movement of a plant due to the pull of
gravity.
