Overview:
The Chicago Connection  page on the web has been created by teachers for use in the third grade study of Chicago. The focus of this site is to acknowledge the people who played a role in the growth of Chicago. Pictures of each person are included so the student can connect faces with the information.
In this web site, four areas of interest about the city of Chicago have been highlighted: Builders and Architects, People in Government, Historical Figures, and Writers and Poets.  The information available in this site is basic for the research needed by a third grade student. Additional URL’s which are related in some way to each person are included. A worksheet designed to guide the student is included below and can be printed for use by the student.

Objectives:
As a result of these lessons, the student will be able to...
-navigate the Chicago Connection Website
-match important people with the contributions they have made to Chicago.

Teacher Notes:
The additional URL sites at the end of each person's section will take the student out of this web page onto the world wide web. It is important the the student be instructed on how to return to the web page.
