There are 157 projects in the Collaboratory created between July 1, 2007, and now, that are currently visible to the public. Most of these projects have artifacts in the resources that are attached to them. Some of these projects have been repeated in the classroom for one or more years. Others are new and have never been used but the managers wanted them to be viewed by the public. |

Biology- Investigating the Cell
Brief Description: Goal: My goal is to engage students into an analysis of text and diagrams at or above their reading level, and to move them to a comfortable place with text and diagrams where they are more confident. The students will learn how to deal with text, diagrams, graphs and charts at a higher level than they are currently which will allow them to become engaged in their learning at a higher level of Blooms. Goal Long-Term: (includes this project) I will attempt to never teach scientific inquiry in isolation, and to use my content when I teach skills and scientific inquiry through out the entire year. I will attempt to build toward a 'perfect' student by assessing their strengths and weaknesses and developing a plant that will allow them to develop critical thinking skill that will enable them to apply knowledge to multiple places and use all area of science simultaneously. '08 project for the national election in November, students will learn what issues matter most to participants, advocate for a candidate they feel can best address an issue that concerns them, vote in the iVOTE '08 National Election and review the election results. iVOTE! is a Northwestern University Collaboratory Project initiative funded by the McCormick Tribune Foundation that is encouraging Illinois youth to vote by exploring ways to bridge the gap between civic engagement, which motivates youth today, and political advocacy, which shapes public policy in ways that will attract young voters.
