Lori Price has been the orchestra teacher at Northwood Junior High, Oak Terrace and Wayne Thomas Schools since August of 1998. She began playing the violin at age 11, the viola at age 14 and the cello and bass at age 18. Growing up, she played in the Ramblewood Middle and J.P. Taravella High School orchestra programs (Coral Springs, Florida) as well as in various community orchestras in the South Florida area. Miss Price attended Interlochen Arts Camp for five summers and performed in the World Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO) in 1993. As a violist in WYSO, Miss Price has performed on stage and in concert with talents such as violinist Itzhak Perlman, cellist Yo Yo Ma, bassist Edgar Meyer and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Miss Price has studied viola privately with Peter Slowik (former Associate Professor of Viola at Northwestern University) and Li-Kuo Chang, Assistant Principal Violist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Miss Price earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from Northwestern University in 1998. She will complete her Master of Music Education degree at Northwestern in July 2002. In addition to her teaching position in North Shore School District 112, Miss Price is currently performing as a violist in the Highland Park Strings. In her spare time, she enjoys taking Hip Hop dance classes, eating Japanese food, spending time with friends and playing with her Himalayan cat named Casey.

Here are some of Miss price's favorite pictures.

First, Miss Price is pictured with her dad, Jim, at Shakespeare's Garden at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Then, Yo Yo Ma, the famous cellist, performed with Miss Price's orchestra in 1993. This picture of Miss Price and Yo Yo was taken immediately after the 1993 World Youth Symphony Orchestra concert in which Yo Yo played the Dvorak cello concerto with Miss Price's orchestra.

Isnt' that the cutest kitten you have ever seen?! Her name is Casey, and she is Miss Price's Himalayan kitten. She is 3-years-old, and she is from Traverse City, Michigan. Next, Miss Price is very proudly displaying her Bachelor of Music degree after her college graduation on June 18, 1998.

Here is Miss Price with some of her friends from graduate school. Over the summers, Miss Price goes to Evanston and becomes a full-time student at Northwestern University. She is working toward her Master of Music degree and will finish in July 2002. After a hard summer of classes, Miss Price and her friends visited Mario Tricoci for haircuts and make-overs.
