Linoleum Prints
Animals were used as the subject for our linoeum prints because of their unique textures.  After looking closely at photographs of animals, student drew the animals realistically, then transferred the image to a linoleum-like block.  We carved the images, paying close attention to positive space, negative space, and texture. During the printing process, students experimented with color combinations by choosing a variety of colored inks and printing on different colored papers.  Andy Warhol inspired our final display of a series of prints rather than a single image.
