Metal Tooling

These metal containers were developed from a flat piece of strong aluminum metal.  Students first created a textured design on paper, then transferred to design to the metal.  Special wooden tools were used to press the metal so that some areas were higher than others. India Ink was brushed over the surface to give more contrast to the design.  A final buffing with steel wool and a bit of hot glue finished the containers.
