This is the 4th year Read Across America has been celebrated as a nationwide event to promote literacy across the country and to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 1. Last year 25 million children, adults, and celebrities shared in reading books together - this year promises more participation. The Oak Terrace Library Media Center (IMC), with the support of the PTO, will host "Read Across America" days on February 25, 26, 27, and 28, 2002. We will also honor and celebrate Theodore Seuss Geisel's birthday. Members of the school community and beyond, will join us to share the love of reading with grades K-5. Many thanks to them for bringing the importance of literature to our students. Stay tuned for pictures.
This year's theme is "Oh, The Places You'll Go!"
More information about how our school is planning to celebrate will be added soon.
