We met some kind people that had a cabin on Lake Flathorn.
They cut down trees to build a fire while we waited for
the mushers to pass by us.
We made signs so mushers, John Baker and Martin Buser,
would stop to say hi.
Charlie Boulding went by first.
"Gee, gee," he yelled so the dogs would turn right.
At first, they wanted to stay on the trail and go straight,
but as soon as he yelled, "gee", they turned right.
Then, we saw Jon Little.
Doug Swingley was next.
He stopped his dog team to give them a snack and let
them rest on hay.
It was amazing to hear them yelping when he told them
to stop
and then immediately quiet down when he took out the
hay.
They knew exactly what they were supposed to do.
It was nap and snack time.
Martin Buser went around Doug Swingley and kept on going.
Lynda Plettner passed by next.
Why do you think the dogs are wearing booties?
We watched a sled dog team from the air as we flew away.
