Description of Institution
Oakton Community College is an institution of higher education located in Des Plaines and Skokie, Illinois. Its superb faculty and state-of-the-art facilities provide affordable, quality education to residents of north suburban Cook County. Oakton offers a full range of educational programs and student/community services including associate degrees for students intending to transfer to baccalaureate programs, credit and non-credit career programs and training courses to meet business needs.

Tuition & Fees
Tuition for 1998-1999: $39 per semester credit for in-district residents and eligible employees of companies within the Oakton Community College district. Various fees may also be required.

Academic Calendar
Two 16-week semesters; one 8-week and one 7-week summer sessions; short courses and seminars are offered each semester as well as between semesters. Weekend College classes are offered Friday evening through Sunday.

Oakton offers a variety of campus support services: Child Care, Career Planning and Placement, Business Outreach and Continuing Education, Instructional Support Services, Library & Media Services, Counseling, Registration and Records, Student Financial Aid, Fitness Center and Health Center.
