North Park University

Description of Institution
North Park University is a private, four-year university located on the north side of Chicago and sponsored by The Evangelical Covenant Church. Enrollment has more than doubled since 1990. In addition to a range of liberal arts programs for traditional residential undergraduates, North Park serves about 700 older adult students in undergraduate and graduate programs. Graduate Programs in Business, Education, Nursing, and Community Development* are offered on campus. North Park Seminary offers a range of theological graduate programs through the doctorate. Pilot courses have begun at off-campus sites and applications are in process to offer a number of full programs off-campus (see column at right).

Academic Calendar
Two 15-week semesters, at times divided into 7-8 week "Quads." Three summer sessions. Various evening and Saturday formats for adult programs.

Campus Support Services
UC offices remain open until 7 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, 6 p.m. Fridays, and 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays. Academic advisers are available weeknights. Financial aid advisers, bibliographic instruction sessions, free e-mail accounts and training, and writing tutors are available. Students have access to other University services as well.
