Description of Institution
Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) is a comprehensive, public, commuter university serving more than 10,000 students in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. 399 full-time and 241 part-time faculty teach courses leading to bachelor and master degrees in the College of Arts and Sciences, Business and Management, and Education. A baccalaureate is also offered in two non-traditional degree programs for adult learners. NEIU is an institution of diversity in ethnicity, gender, and age, and was recognized by US News and World Report (1997) as the most diverse public or private university in the Midwest.
