Charges for use of the NSHEC Interactive Video Network

The following charges will be assessed for use of the NSHEC Interactive Video Network:

• NSHEC Interactive Video Network members for own courses/programs and other uses directly by the member institution(s) over NSHEC lines:

NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. All use of lines within the NSHEC Network are covered by the monthly share paid by each institution for the dedicated lines.

The exception is use charges for time on the Sprint Diamond Network to sites outside the NSHEC Network. These use charges are the responsibility of the individual institution and will be billed by the NSHEC Coordinator's Office to the appropriate institution. Further, when using the Sprint Diamond Network or the Sprint Meeting Channel, any costs associated with use of the receiving room(s) outside the NSHEC Network are also the responsibility of the individual institution.

• Institutions on any other Illinois regional consortium network.

Actual costs for line use and any room charges assessed by the receiving site(s)

• All institutions not on the NSHEC Network or any other Illinois regional consortium network.

$50 per hour per site (to defray the common NSHEC network costs for T1 lines abd technical support) plus actual costs for any out-of-network line charges. (There may also be a room rental fee established by the host and/or receiving institutions.)

Each use by a non-member institution, organization or company must have a signed agreement including specification of security, responsibility and charges.

All charges for use of the network will be billed by and deposited to the joint account of the NSHEC Network to defray shared line and technical costs for the NSHEC Network. Also, charges for the use of lines outside the NSHEC Interactive Video Network by a NSHEC Network institution will be billed directly to the NSHEC institution for repayment into the joint account.
