Promoting Student Excellence in
Mathematics and Science Education

   

The Area VI Mathematics and Science Partnership: Promoting Student Excellence in Mathematics and Science Education is a professional development program for 50 Fifth through Twelfth grade teachers of mathematics and science. The program is designed to create a community of learners with a focus of increasing content knowledge, enhancing pedagogical skills, and promoting the use of education research as a tool to improve classroom instruction and student achievement.

Members of the partnership include three faculty members from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, one staff member from the Collaboratory Project at Northwestern University, and school improvement personnel from the six Regional Offices of Education served by the program.
