As a partner under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), and the provider of WIA Title I D Section 167 services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFW) in Illinois, the Illinois Migrant Council coordinates with Local Workforce Investment Boards to more effectively serve farmworkers in Illinois. IMC is a partner with twelve Local Workforce Investment Boards in Illinois. IMC's Executive Director, Eloy Salazar,
is also a member of the state's Illinois
Human Resource Investment Council / Illinois Workforce Investment Board.
IMC coordinates with the Illinois Employment and Training Centers (IETCs), which are Illinois' one stop centers.IMC activities with its one stop center partners include:
Universal Core Services Illinois' farmworkers have access to universal core services available at IETCs. Core services at one stop centers may include: self-directed job search, use of employment resource centers, local labor market information, employment statistics, training provider and services provider information, resume preparation assistance and referrals to services available through the one stop center's partners. IMC offers farmworkers and non-farmworkers
universal
core services such as information and referrals to partners
and programs.
