"The
patient's confidence is not in relation to the mortar and bricks of the

Of course,
life at Cook County Children's Hospital is not all work. We are as committed
to your development as a person as we are to your development as a pediatrician.
Consequently, you are guaranteed one day off a week and not expected to
work more than 28 hours consecutively. Each year you receive four weeks
vacation and one week of educational leave. Our department also enjoys
informal gatherings: We have a picnic by the lake each summer, a potluck
lunch replaces Noon Conference quarterly, and the interns get together
socially after hours on a regular basis. The camaraderie among residents
is continually cited as one of the strengths of our program. The bonds
you form here will last a lifetime. |
