Registration is now open for iVOTE! If you are an Illinois high school teacher, sponsor an after school club or lead a youth organization and are interested in participating in iVOTE!, you can start right away by registering for the free iVOTE! eCourse, which takes you steb-by-step through the project and its resources. View current eCourses, select iVOTE!, click the Register button and you're ready to go!
To register for the eCourse, you need a Collaboratory account. If you do not have a Collaboratory account, please go to the Collaboratory Project Web site at http://collaboratory.nunet.net and click the “Participate” button. To create a new Collaboratory account, click the “Request New Account” button at the bottom of the page.
If you are a student that would like to participate outside of a class or group, please contact Roxana Hadad at r-hadad@northwestern.edu.
Participating teachers and students will also receive free on-site support at their school.
Join the iVOTE! Community
- Find other Illinois youth who share your interests and concerns about problems facing Illinois communities.
- Develop, share, and discuss research white papers, education programs and advocacy plans with other iVOTE! participants.
- Learn from and replicate successful community projects and effective models for political advocacy.
- Work together to coordinate education and advocacy campaigns to make a difference in the 2008 elections.
Use On-line Collaboratory Resources
- Cybraries - Create virtual libraries of Internet resources, documents and information to support research, education programs and advocacy campaigns
- Survey Studio - Create public opinion polls and collect research data.
- Nexus Communities - Create, share and discuss research white papers, education programs, improvement plans, documentaries, public service announcements, advocacy campaigns, etc.
Make Your Voices Heard and Your Votes Counted!
- What Matters to You? - Identify social, environmental, political, and other issues of concern
- Get Involved! – Become involved in projects to address your concerns
- Take Action! - Research the causes and possible solutions to problems
- Educate! - Inform your community about problems and their solutions
- Let Your Voice Be Heard! - Take advocacy campaigns to politicians and the public.
- Get Out the Vote! - Encourage youth to vote in 2008 for candidates who support your positions
- I Vote! - Students vote online for the candidates that best reflect their positions
