Bilingual / ESL Pull-Out Program

The purpose of the Bilingual/ESL pull-out program (English as a Second Language) is to help students from different language backgrounds acquire knowledge in academic content as they develop fluency in English. The program should lead to improved comprehension of the academic subject areas and serve as a bridge to the mainstream curriculum. The topics or lessons are selected to coincide with mainstream content instruction, to present particular language structures, and / or to suit students interests and needs.
