Here
at Hayt School we are very fortunate to have a program called Academic
Academy. This special program enables us to do many things. Among
them are keeping our Library open before and after school, providing students
with special classes in music and art and a myriad of other opportunities.
Oneof the most important thrusts of this program is to assist students
who are academically at risk in reading and math.
We do this by offering special classes at the third, sixth, and eighth
grade levels since these are the designated "Benchmark Grades" whereby
a student may be retained if he/she does not meet minimum scores on Standardized
Testing. We have far more than that, we have fun too!! We try very
hard in our multicultural setting to assist students with transitional
ELL classes.
Any
other questions regarding this program can be directed to Ms. Stephanie
Favors who chairs Hayt's Academic Academy.
