information about Hesse’s life. It describes Hesse’s feelings about

is worth reading.

(a.k.a. “Der Steppenwolf”). This gives a backround of the book and
contains some information about Hermann’s theory of socialism. This
story gives a detailed backround of the story’s main character, Harry Haller.
It explains why Hesse relates to the character and why the character acts
the way he does.
