About the Collaboratory ProjectCollaboratory Project Home
The Collaboratory Project is a Northwestern University initiative that is helping K–12 teachers use Internet technologies to improve student learning and achievement.

The Collaboratory Project is funded by a grant from Ameritech. The Project provides project consulting, training, technical advice, and Web-based resources and services to education, cultural, and nonprofit organizations interested in using Internet technologies to improve student learning and achievement.

The Collaboratory Project is part of Northwestern University’s Information Technology organization and draws on the experience and technical expertise of the entire organization to support its mission.

Collaboratory Communication Services, Resources, and Communities are available through a standard web browser from servers at Northwestern University 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Students can participate with anything from a single computer with a modem to a fully networked classroom. There is no charge for services; however, participants are expected to provide the time, resources, and commitment necessary to complete their projects successfully.
